13 – ʿAbd Allah narrated to us; Muhammad ibn ʿUthman al-ʿIjli narrated to us; Abu Usama narrated to us, from Jarir ibn Hazim; al-Hasan narrated to us, who said:
The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: ⦗37⦘ “People have not been given in this world anything better than certitude and well-being, so ask Allah for them both.”
Al-Hasan added: “The Messenger of Allah ﷺ spoke the truth: through certitude Paradise is sought, through certitude one flees from the Fire, through certitude the prescribed obligations are fulfilled, and through certitude one perseveres upon the truth. As for Allah’s well-being, it holds abundant good. By Allah, we used to see people standing shoulder to shoulder while in a state of well-being, but when affliction descended they dispersed.”
