1 – The ḥadīth master and genealogist, Abū Muḥammad ʿAbd al-Muʾmin ibn Khalaf al-Dimyāṭī—while I was present in the fourth session—narrated to us; he said: The righteous shaykh Abū l-Ḥasan ʿAlī ibn Abī ʿAbd Allāh ibn ⦗30⦘ Abī l-Ḥasan al-Baghdādī al-Azjī, through my own recitation to him in Cairo and by direct hearing, narrated to us; he said: The lady scholar and scribe, Fakhr al-Nisāʾ Shuhda bint Aḥmad ibn al-Faraj ibn ʿUmar al-Abarī, through a reading to her while I was listening in the year 572 AH, narrated to us; and I read before Abū l-Ḥasan ʿAlī ibn ʿAbd al-Laṭīf ibn Yaḥyā ibn ʿAlī ibn Khaṭṭāb, originally from Daynawar and later of Baghdad, known as Ibn al-Khaymī in Darb Dīnār al-Ṣaghīr, East Baghdad, who transmitted from Shuhda; she said: Al-Sharīf al-Naqīb Abū l-Fawāris Ṭarrādh ibn Muḥammad ibn ʿAlī al-Nursī narrated to us; he said: Abū l-Ḥusayn ʿAlī ibn Muḥammad ibn ʿAbd Allāh ibn Bishrān al-Muʿaddal narrated to us; he said: I read before Abū ʿAlī al-Ḥusayn ibn Ṣafwān al-Barḍhaʿī, while his written copy lay before him and he confirmed it, in Muḥarram 340 AH; he said: ʿAbd Allāh ibn Muḥammad ibn Abī l-Dunyā narrated to us, ⦗31⦘ he said: ʿAlī ibn al-Jaʿd narrated to us; he said: Shuʿbah narrated to us, from Yazīd ibn Khumayr; he said: I heard Sulaym ibn ʿĀmir relate from Awsat ibn Ismāʿīl ibn Awsat, who heard Abū Bakr al-Ṣiddīq (may Allah be pleased with him) say, one year after the Messenger of Allah ﷺ had passed away:

“The Messenger of Allah ﷺ once stood among us in this very place during the first year of my standing here.” Abū Bakr then wept and continued: “Hold fast to truthfulness, for it accompanies righteousness, and together they are in Paradise. Beware of lying, for it accompanies wickedness, and together they are in the Fire. Ask Allah for well-being, for after certitude no one has been granted a boon better than well-being. Do not cut off one another, do not turn your backs on one another, do not envy one another, and be, O servants of Allah, brothers.”
