Example Three:
Hadith no. 114, p. 184:
“Do not do what the Jews did, nor make the sanctities of Allah permissible by the flimsiest of stratagems.”

Shaykh al-Albani said in al-Nasihah:
“However, the hadith has another defect that I already mentioned in Ghayat al-Maram (23–24)… and, upon reflection, this does not contradict what I stated long ago in Adab al-Zifaf, p. 120.” End of al-Albani’s words.

… Al-Albani’s remark that what appears in Adab al-Zifaf does not conflict with what is found in al-Nasihah and Ghayat al-Maram indicates that the ruling in all three places is the same: the hadith is weak.
