42/ ʿĀʾishah (may Allah be pleased with her) said: When the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) had concluded the noon prayer at the end of the Day of Sacrifice, he moved on, then returned to Minā and stayed there through the nights of the Days of Tashrīq. Once the sun had passed its zenith he would stone the jamrah, each jamrah with seven pebbles, pronouncing takbīr over every pebble. He would pause at the first and second jamrahs, standing for a long time and beseeching Allah, then he would stone the third and not stop there.
(Sound, except for the phrase “after he had prayed the noon prayer,” which is anomalous.)
Abū Dāwūd 1973
• Al-Albānī ruled it weak in al-Irwāʾ 1082.
• In Ṣaḥīḥ Sunan Abī Dāwūd he wrote: “Sound, except for the phrase ‘after he had prayed the noon prayer’; it is anomalous.”
