307 – “You will unfailingly follow the ways of those who came before you, span by span and cubit by cubit, to the point that if one of them were to crawl into a lizard’s burrow you would crawl in after him, and if one of them were to have intercourse with his wife in the street you would do the same.”
Narrated by al-Hākim from Ibn ʿAbbās.

First ruling: sound in this wording — Ṣaḥīḥ al-Jāmiʿ (5067).
Final ruling: sound, except for the phrase “his wife”; the correct wording is “his mother” — al-Ṣaḥīḥah (1348).
