Section Nine – from “sound excluding his words” to “sound, excluding what is between the brackets”
306 – “I see what you do not see and I hear what you do not hear. The heaven has groaned, and it is entitled to groan. There is no space the width of four fingers within it except that an angel has placed his forehead in prostration to Allah. By Allah, if you knew what I know you would laugh little and weep much, [and you would not enjoy intimacy with women upon your beds]. You would go out to the high ground, crying out to Allah, [and I would wish that I were a tree that is cut down].”
Reported by al-Tirmidhī and Ibn Mājah from Abū Dharr.
First ruling: sound, excluding his words “and I would wish… ” — al-Ṣaḥīḥah (1722).
Final ruling: sound, excluding what is between the brackets — Hidāyat al-Ruwāh (5277).
