301 – ʿĀʾishah – Allah be pleased with her – said: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ was asked about a man who finds moisture but does not recall a wet dream. He answered, “He must perform a ritual bath.” He was then asked about a man who believes he has had a wet dream yet finds no moisture, and he replied, “No bath is required of him.” [Umm Sulaym asked, “Messenger of Allah, does a woman who sees that have to bathe as well?” He said, “Yes, for women are the counterparts of men.”]

302 – An effeminate man who had dyed his hands and feet with henna was brought to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. The Prophet said, “What is the matter with this man?” They replied, “He imitates women.” He ordered that he be banished to al-Naqīʿ. Someone then said, “Messenger of Allah, shall we not kill him?” He answered, “I have been forbidden to kill those who pray.”
