His is the dominion and His is the praise; He gives life and causes death…’ none will surpass him except a man who outdoes him by saying something better than what he has said.”

300 – The Prophet ﷺ once entered, and I could tell from his face that something had come over him. He performed ablution and spoke to no one. I pressed myself against the wall of the apartment to listen to what he would say. He sat upon the pulpit, praised Allah and extolled Him, then said, “O people, Allah says to you: ‘Command what is right and forbid what is wrong before you call upon Me and I do not respond to you [and you ask of Me and I do not give you, and you seek My help and I do not help you].’” He added nothing beyond these words until he descended.
Reported by Ibn Ḥibbān, from ʿĀʾishah.
