99 – Suraij narrated to me; he said: ʿAbbād ibn al-ʿAwwām reported, from ʿĀṣim ibn Kulayb, from Salamah ibn Nubātah, who said: We set out—whether for Hajj or for ʿUmrah—and passed by Abū Dharr at al-Rabadha. He came over and sat with us. One of the people—perhaps one of us—asked him, “What property do you own?” He replied, “I have such-and-such camels and such-and-such sheep. A son of mine grazes one herd, and my servant tends the other; he is to be set free at the end of the year.”
