97 – Suraij narrated to us; he said: Yazid b. Harun narrated to us; he said: Muhammad b. ʿAmr reported: I heard ʿIrak b. Malik say: Abu Dharr, may Allah be pleased with him, said, “I am the one who sits nearest among you to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, and that is because I heard ⦗60⦘ the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say: ‘The person who will sit closest to me on the Day of Resurrection is the one who leaves this world in the very condition in which I left it.’ By Allah, there is not one of you who has not seized something of it (this world) except me.”
