96 – Suraij narrated to me; he said: Rawh b. ʿUbadah related to us; he said: Hisham narrated, from Hawshab, from al-Hasan, that Salman al-Farisi visited Abu Bakr, may Allah be pleased with him, during the illness in which he died. Salman said, “Give me counsel.” Abu Bakr replied, “If the life of this world is opened up before you, take from it only what suffices as provision. And know that whoever performs the Dawn prayer is under Allah’s protection, so do not violate Allah’s protection, lest He cast you face-down into the Fire.”
