89 – Suraij ibn Yunus narrated to us; he said: Yazid ibn Harun and ʿUthman ibn ʿAbbad transmitted, from Muhammad ibn ʿAmr, from Yahya ibn ʿAbd al-Rahman ibn Hatib, who said: Abu Waqid al-Laythi declared, “We surveyed all deeds and found nothing more effective in seeking the Hereafter than zuhd—renunciation of this world.”
