85 – Ahmad ibn ʿAsim ibn ʿAnbasah related to me; he said: ʿAbd al-Ṣamad ibn ʿAbd al-Wārith narrated to us, from Ḥurayth ibn al-Sāʾib, from al-Ḥasan, from Ḥumrān, from ʿUthmān—may Allah be pleased with him—who traced it back to the Prophet ﷺ:
“The son of Adam is entitled to nothing beyond these essentials: a house that shelters him, a coarse garment that covers his nakedness, and a crust of bread with water.”
