Al-ZuhdIbn Abi al-Dunya

78 – Abu Khaythamah, Zuhayr ibn Harb, related to us; he said: Wakiʿ ibn al-Jarrah narrated to us; he said: al-Masʿudi transmitted, from ʿAmr ibn Murrah, from Ibrahim, from ʿAlqamah, from ʿAbd Allah, from the Prophet ﷺ, who said: “What have I to do with worldly life? My likeness and the likeness of this world is that of a traveler who paused in the shade of a tree on a scorching summer day, then went on his way and left it behind.”
