68 – Muḥammad ibn ʿAlī ibn Shaqīq narrated to us; he said: Abū Isḥāq Ibrāhīm ibn al-Ashʿath narrated to us; he said: I heard al-Fuḍayl ibn ʿIyāḍ say that Ibn ʿAbbās said: “On the Day of Resurrection the worldly life will be brought forth in the form of an old, grey-haired woman with glaring blue eyes, her fangs protruding and her whole appearance hideously deformed. She will look down upon all created beings and it will be announced, ‘Do you recognize this?’ They will reply, ‘We seek refuge with Allah from knowing what that is!’ It will then be said, ‘This is the world over which you fought one another; for its sake you severed the bonds of kinship, envied and hated one another, and were deluded.’ Thereupon she will be flung into Hell, and she will cry out, ‘My Lord, where are my followers and my partisans?’ Allah, exalted is He, will say, ‘Join to her her followers and her partisans.’”
