556 – Muḥammad ibn Idrīs narrated to me, Zuhayr ibn ʿAbbād narrated to us, ʿAbd Allāh ibn Ḥakīm ibn Abī Dāhiriyy narrated to us, from Mujjaʿah ibn al-Zubayr, from al-Ḥasan, who said: “A person is not truly ascetic regarding this world until he is untroubled by the humiliation it inflicts and no longer competes with its people for it.”
