546 – Ishaq ibn ʿAbd Allah narrated to me: “The fidāʾ (ransom) has been abandoned. I see that people have made this world their capital and count whatever comes to them from the Hereafter as profit. I have resolved to make the Hereafter my capital and to regard whatever of this world reaches me as profit.” He said: and he put that resolve into practice.
