545 – Al-Qāsim ibn Hāshim related to me; he said: Isḥāq ibn ʿAbbād related to me, who said: One of the scholars said to me, “Shall I give you a parable for the condition of these people? They are like a group who have taken this world as a permanent residence and have made the Hereafter nothing but play and self-delusion.” He then added, “Touch whomever you wish among them: if you offer him sincere counsel regarding his religion, he will treat you as an enemy.”
