54 – Muhammad ibn al-Husayn narrated to me; he said: Yahya ibn Rashid told us; Abu ʿAsim narrated; Bazīʿ al-Hilali, from Suhaym, the client of Banu Tamim, reported:
“I was sitting with ʿAmir ibn ʿAbd Allah while he was praying. He offered a brief prayer, then turned to me and said, ‘Put me at ease by stating your need, for I am hastening.’ I asked, ‘Hastening toward what?’ He replied, ‘I am hastening to the Angel of Death—may Allah have mercy on you.’ Suhaym added, ‘So I rose and left him, and he resumed his prayer.’”
