490 – Al-Hasan ibn ʿAbd al-ʿAzīz narrated to me; he said: Abū Mushir reported to us, from Saʿīd ibn ʿAbd al-ʿAzīz, that Jesus—peace be upon him—once looked at Iblis and said, “This is the ruler ⦗210⦘ of the world; for its sake he ventured forth and it is all he ever sought. I will not let him share in any part of it—not so much as a stone I might lay beneath my head—nor will I laugh in it excessively until the moment I leave it.”
