477 – Rawḥ ibn ʿAbd al-Raḥmān related to me, saying: Ṣāliḥ ibn ʿAbd al-Karīm narrated, saying: One of the sages said, “A person is safe from the world only when he takes from it for its own sake, then leaves it behind and is called to account for it. But whoever takes from it for some purpose beyond it will find what he took waiting ahead of him—and there he will remain.”
