472 – Salamah ibn Shabib narrated to me, from Ahmad ibn Abi al-Hawari, who said: Abu ʿAbd Allah al-Nibaji said to me, “Ahmad, do you know what I said last night?” I replied, “O Allah, it is unfitting for a frail servant like me to presume to teach One as Majestic as You anything that He already knows. O Allah, You know that if the entire world, from its first moment to its last, were made lawful for me, I would still deem it vile and would have no desire for it.”
