460 – ʿAbd Allah related to us, saying: Mahmud ibn Khidash narrated to us, saying: Ashʿath ibn ʿAbd al-Rahman narrated to us, saying: a man called ʿAbd al-Malik narrated to us, from al-Hasan, who said:

“Son of Adam, do not burden a single day with the worry of an entire year; let your day suffice you for what it contains. If that year is destined to remain of your lifespan, Allah will bring you your provision within it; but if it is not, then I see you chasing after what is not yours.”
