450 – Muḥammad ibn al-Ḥusayn related to me, saying: Muḥammad ibn Sinān al-Bāhilī told me: Mansūr al-Ṭafāwī was a devoted worshipper who lived on very little. One of his neighbors informed me that he once complained to Mansūr about the harshness of the times, so Mansūr replied, “Make tomorrow the same as today, and treat today as you have treated the days already past in your life. Ask Allah to grant you the best outcome in all your affairs, for He is the Giver and He is the Withholder.”
