Al-ZuhdIbn Abi al-Dunya

429 – Muhammad ibn al-Husayn related to me; he said: Badal ibn al-Muhabbar al-Yarbūʿī narrated to us; he said: al-Minhāl ibn ʿĪsā, from Ghālib al-Qaṭṭān, from al-Hasan, who said:
“Son of Adam, you are riding between two steeds that keep carrying you onward: the night hands you over to the day, and the day hands you over to the night, until the pair finally deliver you to the Hereafter. Who, then, O son of Adam, is in greater peril than you?”
