423 – ʿAlī ibn Muslim told me; he said: Sayyār narrated to us; he said: Jaʿfar related to us; he said: Milāk ibn Dīnār reported that Jesus (peace be upon him) used to say, “Night and day are two treasure-chests, so mind well what you deposit in them.” He would also say, “Exert yourselves in the night for the purpose for which it was created, and exert yourselves in the day for the purpose for which it was created.”
