42 – Suraij ibn Yunus narrated to me; he said: Yazid ibn Harun narrated to us; he said: Hisham reported, saying: I heard al-Hasan declare:
“By Allah, if the life of this world is spread out for someone and he does not fear that it may be a divine ruse against him, his intellect has certainly been impaired and his judgment has failed. Likewise, if Allah withholds the world from a servant and the servant does not suppose that this withholding is actually a better choice made for him, then his intellect has been impaired and his judgment has failed.”
