Al-ZuhdIbn Abi al-Dunya

417 – Abū Isḥāq al-Ādamī narrated to me; he said: I heard Abū Rabīʿah ibn ʿAwf say: I heard Sufyān ibn ʿUyaynah relate that one of the sages said:

“The days are three: Yesterday is a wise tutor—it has left you an admonition and deposited within you a lesson; Today is a guest—long absent from you, yet quick to depart; and as for Tomorrow, you do not know who will possess it.”
