411 – Abū ʿAbd al-Raḥmān Salamah ibn Shabīb narrated to me, saying: Sahl ibn ʿĀṣim related to us, from ʿAbd al-Kabīr ibn Muʿāfā ibn ʿImrān, who said: My father narrated to us, saying: Qays ibn Saʿd related to us, and he heard Mujāhid say:

“Not a single day passes without declaring, ‘O son of Adam, I have entered upon you today, and after this day I shall never return to you again. So consider what you will do within me.’ Once it has elapsed, it is rolled up and sealed, and that seal will not be broken until Allah Himself breaks it on the Day of Resurrection. When the day concludes it proclaims: ‘Praise be to Allah, who has relieved me of the world and its people.’ And there is no night that descends upon people without saying the same.”
