393 – Al-Walīd ibn Shujāʿ al-Sakūnī narrated to us; he said: Damrah ibn Rabīʿah narrated to me, from Ibn Shawdhab, who said:

It was said to Kathīr ibn Ziyād, “Advise us.” He replied, “Sell your worldly life for your Hereafter and—by Allah—you will profit from both in their entirety. But do not sell your Hereafter for your worldly life, for—by Allah—you will lose them both in their entirety.”
