38 – al-ʿAbbās al-ʿAnbarī narrated to me; he said: Muḥammad ibn Jahḍam related to us, saying: Ismāʿīl ibn Jaʿfar, from ʿUmārah ibn Ghaziyyah, from ʿĀṣim ibn ʿUmar ibn Qatādah, from Maḥmūd ibn Labīd, from Qatādah ibn al-Nuʿmān, reported that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: “When Allah loves a servant, He shields him from the life of this world just as one of you keeps water from his patient.”
