372 – Harun ibn Sufyan related to me: Zakariyya ibn ‘Adi narrated to us, saying: Ismaʿil ibn ʿAbd al-Aʿla, on the authority of his father, from al-ʿAlaʾ ibn al-Mundhir, stated: “The span of this worldly life is seven thousand years. Of that, six thousand six hundred—or six thousand five hundred and a little more—have already elapsed since the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, was sent.”
