359 – Ishaq ibn Isma‘il narrated to us; Jarir narrated, from ‘Ata ibn al-Sa’ib, from Abu al-Bakhtari, that ‘Umar—may Allah be pleased with him—wrote to Abu Musa:
“Do not postpone today’s task until tomorrow, or the duties will accumulate against you ⦗166⦘ and be lost. People are naturally averse to their ruler. I seek refuge in Allah lest you and I be overtaken by harbored grudges, a world that is preferred, and whims that are followed.”
