330 – Khālid ibn Khidāsh narrated to us; he said: ʿAbd al-ʿAzīz ibn Abī Ḥāzim related to me, saying: My father told me, from ʿAbd Allāh ibn Bulā, from his own father—who was one of the Prophet’s Companions—that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ came to Mount al-Aḥmar and there saw ⦗154⦘ a dead sheep. We pinched our noses, whereupon he said, “Do you imagine this animal was esteemed by its owners?” They replied, “What esteem could it have?” He said, “By Allah, this world is more insignificant in Allah’s sight than this carcass is to its owners.”
