313 – Abū ʿUmar al-Azdi narrated to us; he said: A Bedouin saw his brother’s obsession with the world and said to him, “My brother, you are both a seeker and one who is sought. The One from whom no fugitive escapes is seeking you, while you pursue what has already been secured for you. It is as though what had ⦗148⦘ been hidden from you has now been laid bare, and what you busy yourself with has already been taken from you. My brother, it is as though you have never seen a greedy man left deprived, nor an ascetic amply provided for.”
