31 – Ishaq b. Ismaʿil narrated to us, saying: Jarir narrated to us, from Layth, from Shahr b. Hawshab, who said: Jesus son of Mary, peace be upon him, said: “Do not set up this world as your lord, or it will reduce you to its slaves. Deposit your treasure with the One who never lets it go to waste; the keeper of an earthly hoard always fears some calamity may strike it, whereas the keeper of Allah’s treasure has no such fear.”
