301 – Al-Khalīl ibn ʿAmr narrated to us, Ibn al-Sammāk narrated, from ʿAbd al-Wāḥid ibn Zayd, from al-Ḥasan, who said: “When Allah wants good for a servant, He gives him a portion of this world as a gift and then withholds it; when he has spent it, He grants him another. But when the servant becomes insignificant in His sight, He spreads the world out for him without restraint.”
