296 – Muḥammad ibn ʿAlī narrated to us. He said: I heard Ibrāhīm ibn al-Ashʿath say: I heard al-Fuḍayl ibn ʿIyāḍ say: It was said, “O Moses, does My believing servant grow sorrowful when I withhold the world from him even though that brings him nearer to Me? And does he rejoice when I expand the world for him even though that takes him farther from Me?”
