279 – Muhammad ibn ʿAlī narrated to us; he said: Ibrāhīm ibn al-Ashʿath narrated to us; he said: I heard al-Fuḍayl ibn ʿIyāḍ say, “All evil has been put into one chest, and its key is love for this world; and all good has been put into one chest, and its key is detachment from this world.”
٢٧٩ - ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ، قَالَ: ثنا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ الْأَشْعَثِ، قَالَ: وَسَمِعْتُهُ يَعْنِي الْفُضَيْلَ بْنَ عِيَاضٍ، يَقُولُ: «جُعِلَ الشَّرُّ كُلُّهُ فِي بَيْتٍ، وَجُعِلَ مُفْتَاحُهُ حُبَّ الدُّنْيَا، وَجُعِلَ الْخَيْرُ كُلُّهُ فِي بَيْتٍ، وَجُعِلَ مُفْتَاحُهُ الزُّهْدَ فِي الدُّنْيَا»
