215 – ʿAbd Allāh narrated to us; he said: Isḥāq b. Ismāʿīl related to us; he said: Abū Muʿāwiyah narrated to us, from al-Aʿmash, from Shimr b. ʿAṭiyyah, from al-Mughīrah b. Saʿd b. al-Akhram, from his father, from ʿAbd Allāh—may Allah be pleased with him—who said:

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, “Do not acquire landed estates, for that will make you long for the life of this world.”

ʿAbd Allāh then added, “And Barādhān—what is Barādhān? And the City—what is the City?”
