20 – Dawud ibn ‘Amr narrated to us; he said: Mansur ibn Abi al-Aswad narrated to us, from al-A‘mash, from Abu Sufyan, from al-Hasan, who said: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “This worldly life is sweet and green, and Allah will appoint you as stewards in it to see how you behave. When the life of the world was opened up and smoothed out for the Children of Israel, they began to outdo one another in jewelry, women, fragrances, and fine clothes.”
