19 – Al-Qāsim ibn Hāshim narrated to me; he said: ʿAbd al-Wahhāb ibn Najdah al-Ḥawṭī narrated to us; he said: Baqiyyah ibn al-Walīd narrated to us, from Abū al-Ḥajjāj al-Mahrī, from Abū Maymūn al-Lakhmī, that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, once stopped at a refuse heap and said, “Come and look at the world.” He picked up some rags that had rotted on that dump and some bones that had decayed, then said, “This is the world.”
