18 – Al-Ḥusayn ibn ʿAbd al-Raḥmān narrated to me; he said: ʿAbd Allah ibn Muḥammad al-Taymī narrated to us, from an elder of Banū ʿAdī. He said: A man asked ʿAlī ibn Abī Ṭālib — may Allah be pleased with him, “Commander of the Believers, describe this world to us.” He replied, “And what shall I tell you about an abode in which: whoever enjoys good health feels secure; whoever falls sick regrets; whoever is poor grieves; and whoever is wealthy is put to trial. Its lawful gains will be subject to Reckoning, and its unlawful gains lead to the Fire.”
