165 – Muhammad ibn ʿAbd al-Majid al-Tamimi narrated to me; he said: Jaʿfar ibn Sulayman transmitted from Malik ibn Dinar, who said: ʿAbd Allah al-Razi said to me, “If you wish to taste the sweetness of worship and scale the very peak of its summit, then set up between yourself and the appetites of this world a wall of iron.”
١٦٥ - حَدَّثَنِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْمَجِيدِ التَّمِيمِيُّ، قَالَ: ثنا جَعْفَرُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ، عَنْ مَالِكِ بْنِ دِينَارٍ، قَالَ: قَالَ لِي عَبْدُ اللَّهِ الرَّازِيُّ: إِنْ سَرَّكَ أَنْ تَجِدَ حَلَاوَةَ الْعِبَادَةِ، وَتَبْلُغَ ذِرْوَةَ سَنَامِهَا، فَاجْعَلْ بَيْنَكَ وَبَيْنَ شَهَوَاتِ الدُّنْيَا حَائِطًا مِنْ حَدِيدٍ
