154 – Al-ʿAbbās ibn Abī ʿAbd Allāh told me, from an Anṣārī elder, from Wahb ibn Munabbih, who said: “While a band of riders was travelling, a voice called out to them:
[al-Baḥr al-Ṭawīl]
Take heed! This present world is but a midday halt for a wayfarer—
he satisfies a passing need and then moves on.
Take heed! He does not know where his final stop will be;
whatever you have sent ahead, there you will surely find awaiting you.”
