144 – Hārūn narrated to us; he said: Sayyār narrated to us; he said: Jaʿfar narrated to us; he said: I heard Farkad al-Sabakhī say, “Treat this world as a wet nurse and the Hereafter as a true mother. Do you not see how a child is first placed with a wet nurse? Yet once he grows, recognizes his own mother, and understands who she is, he leaves the wet nurse and rushes into his mother’s arms. Likewise, the Hereafter is your mother, and before long she will take you back to herself.”
