130 – Muhammad ibn al-Husayn narrated to us. He said: Abu Salamah – Musa ibn Ismaʿil – related to me. He said: Hazm narrated to us, saying, “I heard Malik ibn ⦗71⦘ Dinar say:

‘It would not please me to own everything from al-Jisr to Khurasan even for the price of a single dung pellet; sometimes they quoted him as saying, “for a date-pit.” Nor would it please me to possess everything from al-Jabal to al-Ubulla for a single dung pellet; sometimes they said, “for a date-pit.”’

Then he would turn to us and say, ‘By Allah, if what I sought from you were no more than this, I would indeed be wretched.’
