107 – Abū Muslim al-Ḥarrānī narrated to us; he said: Miskīn ibn Bukayr narrated to us, from Muḥammad ibn Muhājir, from Yūnus ibn Maysarah al-Jublanī, who said:
“Renunciation of the world is not achieved by forbidding what is lawful, nor by squandering wealth. True renunciation is to be more certain of what is in Allah’s hand than of what is in your own; to remain the same in adversity as when no calamity befalls you; and to regard the praise of those who commend you and the blame of those who censure you as equal, so long as you are upon the truth.”
