91 – Yaʿqūb ibn ʿUbayd narrated to us; he said: Hishām ibn ʿAmmār informed us; he said: Yaḥyā ibn Ḥamzah narrated to us; he said: al-Ḥakam ibn ʿAbd Allah ibn Saʿīd al-Aylī narrated that he heard Muḥammad ibn ʿAbd Allah al-Taymī relate from his father, from Abū Bakr al-Ṣiddīq — may Allah be pleased with him — that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said:
“You will be sifted until you are left as the dregs among a people whose covenants have been broken and whose trusts have been squandered.”
It was asked, “What shall we do then?”
He replied, “Maintain what you recognize as right and repudiate what you recognize as wrong.”
