55 – Hamzah ibn al-ʿAbbās narrated to us, saying: ʿAbd Allāh ibn ʿUthmān al-ʿAtakī told us; he said: ʿAbd Allāh ibn al-Mubārak related to us; he said: Maʿmar transmitted from al-Zuhrī, who said: Ibn Ḥarmalah, the freedman of Usāmah ibn Zayd, told me that al-Ḥajjāj ibn Ayman, the son of Umm Ayman—Ayman was Usāmah’s maternal half-brother and a man of the Anṣār—entered the mosque and prayed in a manner that did not fulfill the bowing or the prostration. Ibn ʿUmar saw him, and when he finished he summoned him and said, “Nephew, do you think you have prayed? You have not prayed. Go back and repeat your prayer.”
٥٥ - حَدَّثَنَا حَمْزَةُ بْنُ الْعَبَّاسِ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ عُثْمَانَ الْعَتَكِيُّ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ الْمُبَارَكِ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا مَعْمَرٌ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنِي ابْنُ حَرْمَلَةَ، مَوْلَى أُسَامَةَ بْنِ زَيْدَ " أَنَّ الْحَجَّاجَ بْنَ أَيْمَنَ ابْنِ أُمِّ أَيْمَنَ، - وَكَانَ أَيْمَنُ أَخَا أُسَامَةَ لِأُمِّهِ، وَهُوَ رَجُلٌ مِنَ الْأَنْصَارِ - فَدَخَلَ الْحَجَّاجُ فَصَلَّى صَلَاةً لَا يُتِمُّ رُكُوعَهُ وَلَا سُجُودَهُ، فَرَآهُ ابْنُ عُمَرَ، فَدَعَاهُ حِينَ فَرَغَ، فَقَالَ: يَا ابْنَ أَخِي، أَتَحْسَبُ أَنَّكَ صَلَّيْتَ؟ إِنَّكَ لَمْ تُصَلِّ، فَعُدْ لِصَلَاتِكَ "
